French Linen Roman Shades

100% natural French linen in a clean, structured Roman shade. HPD French Linen Roman shades deliver authentic natural fiber warmth and texture in your exact window dimensions — available in relaxed and flat fold with lining from privacy to blackout.

French Linen Roman shades have a quality that's genuinely distinctive — the natural fiber variation in the weave, the way the fabric diffuses light into a warm organic glow, the relaxed elegance that suits kitchens as naturally as it suits formal dining rooms. In a Roman shade format, the weight of natural linen creates exceptionally clean folds that hold their shape without stiffener or backing.

Available in custom sizes with privacy lining, lined and interlined, and blackout lining options. Dry clean only. The Roman shade format is particularly popular for French Linen in kitchens and dining rooms where curtain panels would be impractical but the authentic natural fiber character is still wanted.

Is HPD French Linen Roman shade fabric genuine natural linen?

Yes — French Linen Roman shades are made from 100% natural linen fiber with authentic texture variation, natural weight, and organic character. The natural fiber creates a particularly warm, diffused light quality when privacy-lined. Dry clean only to preserve the natural fiber character.

What style options are available?

All HPD Roman shades are available in both Relaxed and Flat Roman styles. The Relaxed style features soft, casual curves at the bottom when raised — suited to informal fabrics and rooms. The Flat style features crisp, structured horizontal folds — suited to formal rooms and fabrics like velvet and faux silk where drape and sheen are the focus.

How do I measure for a Roman shade?

Roman shades can be ordered for inside or outside mount. Inside mount requires a minimum 2¾" window depth — measure the opening at three points (top, middle, bottom for width; left, centre, right for height) and use the narrowest width and tallest height. HPD makes all necessary deductions in-house. Outside mount: add a minimum of 1½" on each side for width and at least 2–3" above the opening for height. Always measure to the nearest ⅛" using a steel tape measure.

How does the lift mechanism work and is it safe for homes with children?

HPD Roman shades operate with a plastic beaded continuous loop that raises and lowers the shade smoothly through a clutch mechanism. The shade locks at any position. Free-hanging loops pose a strangulation hazard to young children — always secure the loop to the wall using the tension device provided, keep loops out of children's reach, and position furniture away from window coverings. Check that the tension device remains securely fixed to the wall and reinstall if it comes loose.

What rooms and styles suit French Linen Roman shades?

Kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms where natural fiber quality and a clean, fitted format are both valued. French Linen is particularly popular for kitchen and dining room Roman shades where curtain panels would be impractical. Suits French country, Scandinavian, coastal, farmhouse, and transitional interiors.
